Coins

Did I call you last night?
I understand the shadows and the stream now.
I flew with knowledge
and landed on the sidewalk
with a joint stained in red lipstick.
Oh, I miss the smashing buildings
 filling my little southern face.
Your hand in my neck.
Your New York style in the air.

Have you ever learned musicians
are true only in rewards of silence?
Just put two coins on your eyelids.
I'll follow you through the path of Charon.
I'll play sounds of water
and darkness
and despair.
'Cause even luck is bright
when it comes to death.
